1. Child friendly beaches.
Child-friendly Ibiza is very versatile in terms of beaches. There are a lot of beaches with pebbles and rocks in the water, which are of course not very practical if the kids want to swim. Below is an overview of the most child-friendly beaches in Ibiza.
Cala Llonga is a perfect beach to visit with the kids. It is located in a beautiful green area between two wooded mountains. The beach is located on a boulevard with many different shops and restaurants. The water is super clear and the nice thing is that it ends with very fine sand, so you won't be bothered by annoying thick stones. Have the kids had enough of swimming and building sandcastles? Then they can have fun in the playground near the beach. Cala Llonga is 200 meters long and 100 meters deep, so there is enough space to lay down your towel (or you can plop down on one of the many beach beds). The good thing is that there is also a lifeguard on the beach. If you are not so into relaxing, you can also choose to use the water sports facilities. At Cala Llonga you can go parasailing, diving, windsurfing and water skiing. Cala Llonga is located about 10 minutes drive from Santa Eulalia or from Ibiza Town. Cala Llonga can be reached both by car and by bus.
In the northeast of Ibiza you will find the beach Cala Pada This beach is located near Santa Eularia and is a typical family beach. The beach is over 200 meters long and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. The water is crystal clear and the fine sandy beach slopes gently into the water. For that reason it is one of the most popular beaches for families and (young) families with children
Es Figueral is a wide sandy beach about 350 meters long and 5 to 50 meters deep. Here is enough space to lay down with your kids. On this beach you will find a lot of hotels and apartments where many families stay. Fun for the kids to make friends. The sandy beach slopes gently into the water making it very safe for children to swim. The beach is surrounded by cliffs, consisting of many rocks. From this beach you also have a beautiful view of the private island of Tagomago. Around the beach of Es Figueral you have a lot of nice restaurants, bars and cafes. You will find Es Figueral in the north of Ibiza and it is located about 10 minutes from San José.
Ses Figueretas is the closest beach to Ibiza town. The beach is 100 meters wide and about 50 meters deep. The water is divided by rocks into small bays and here children can play and swim. The water is clear and the surface is fine sand. Figueretas has a lively boulevard where you can often visit a market in the evening or one of the many shops, restaurants and bars. If the children feel like chips, frikandellen and croquettes, Café de Hoeck is located in the street behind the beach of Figueretas. Figueretas is located exactly between Playa d'en Bossa and Ibiza Town.
Es Niu Blau
Another nice family beach near Santa Eularia is Es Niu. This beach can also be found in the northeast of Ibiza. It is also one of the more popular family beaches in Ibiza. This is mainly due to the fine beach that slopes gently into the water. The water is a bit less clear than that of Cala Pada.During the high season there are also various water sports activities. It is fun for the children to rent a pedal boat or take a ride on the banana. Finally, you will also find beach club Pura Vida Ibiza here. Every Wednesday and Sunday from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. there is a fun kids' club where your children will be entertained with fun games, drawing and face painting!
In the northwest of Ibiza you will find the beach Cala Benirras . This is one of the most beautiful beaches of the northwest of Ibiza and is known as a very cozy beach. The mixed sand and pebble beach slopes gently into the water. This makes it an ideal beach for families and families with children. Because the water is crystal clear, you can also enjoy snorkeling here. Every Sunday the hippies close the week with a party and you can enjoy the drumming. This is great fun to experience with children, but make sure you are there on time because of the crowds.
Another nice family beach in the northeast of Ibiza is Cala Llenya. This is a fine, wide sandy beach, surrounded by rocky cliffs. The beach gradually slopes into the water, making it an attractive beach for families with children. You will not find any fancy beach clubs here, but only one small beach bar where you can get some snacks and drinks. However, there are sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, so you can relax while the children romp in the sand.

Here you will also find the famous Cala Bassa Beach Club, where you can relax and have a delicious lunch in the afternoon. When you rent lounge beds here, the food is even served next to you on the beach on a separate table. So you can sit comfortably while the children play on the beach.
Cala Nova is a cozy family beach in the northeast of Ibiza. This beach is especially recommended when your children are a little older. When there is an easterly wind, the waves increase and it is a popular spot for surfers. Because the beach slopes slightly for the first few meters, it is a nice beach to play in the waves. However, it is recommended not to swim in bad weather because of the current that can arise. On this beach you will find the beautiful boho beach club Aiyanna ibiza and you will also find Atzaro Beach Ibiza here. Atzaro has set up a nice 'kids corner' where the little ones can play while you enjoy the terrace with a beautiful view over the bay.

We always park ourselves at Cala Tarida Noord and from there take the stairs down to the beach. Next to the stairs you will find a sloping part to go down with the pram, but keep in mind that this is very steep. The beach is very large and the water is beautifully clear. In the bay there are a number of rocks that children like to play around and jump from. It is also possible to rent pedal boats. Guaranteed fun for the kids.
Aguas Blancas in the northeast of Ibiza is also a popular family beach. However, this beach is not suitable for young children because of the somewhat higher waves. For older children it is wonderful to play in the waves or go body boarding. The beach is not very wide but well suited for snorkeling around the rocks. It is also great fun to jump off the rocks into the water.
Cala d,Hort is also a beautiful family beach located in the southwest of Ibiza. From this beach you have a beautiful view of Es Vedra. You will find many tourists who want to have a look at Es Vedra, but also quite a few families with children. This is because the beach here also slopes gently into the water. The parts where you can swim are also cordoned off so that you are not bothered by boats.

6. Extra tips for Ibiza with children
- Did you know that as a parent with children you can always board the plane first? This is also always announced when boarding starts. So just stand at the front of the queue, no one will be surprised.
- If you have forgotten something for your little one, you can go to the baby store Moms & Babies in Ibiza town. Here they have everything from Dr. Brown bottles, toys to strollers.
- There are plenty of supermarkets in Ibiza. And yes, they also sell baby food in the supermarket in Ibiza.
- If you have not rented a car in Ibiza, take a taxi with the kids from the airport the first time. This gives you much more peace of mind than when you first have to stop at 10 other hotels with the transfer bus. Taxis are a lot cheaper in Spain and even if you have to go all the way to the other side of the island, it will only cost around €30.
- Try to avoid the city of San Antonio with childeren. This is a big (drunk) English crowd in high season.
- Only visit Ibiza Town towards the end of the afternoon, so you avoid the hottest part of the day. So nice for the kids.
- Take a good look at which flag is hanging on the beach. Depending on the color, it is or is not dangerous to go swimming in the sea for the children (green = safe). Fortunately, there are also one or more lifeguards present on most beaches during the high season. You can always inquire with them.
- Buy a large rug for a few euros from one of the 'local sellers' who roam the larger beaches. These are often at least 2×2 meters and with that you can nicely claim your own spot on the beach. Ideal for the kids to play or relax on too.
