Sant Antonio Beaches

Relax in Sant Antonio
Although Sant Antoni is known as the place to party, there are also quieter places in and around the city where you can relax. Sant Antoni Bay, for example, is very suitable for families. The water is shallow, clean and safe. Ideal for allowing children to play safely. In the evening there is often entertainment aimed at families.

The north of Sant Antoni is the quiet part of town and a favorite with families and couples. Close by you will find quieter beaches such as Cala Gracio (very suitable for children), Cala Gracioneta and Cala Salada (a beautiful cove between the rocks).
In the lovely wide Bay of San Antonio you're never far from a beach; five small ones are within short walking distance from either end. In fact a favourite way to start - or end - the day, is a stroll along the shoreline path connecting the beaches that all have bars open till late.
Each small beach has its own character and atmosphere, so you may like to try a couple of them before deciding which is your favourite.
Es Puet beach (Es Pouet)
As you walk around the bay from San Antonio the first small beach you come to is Es Puet. It's a sweep of fine golden sand and shallow water that is perfect for children to play safely in. Well served by three snack bars, and across the road you'll find a further selection of bars and shops. A ferry boat service operates to San Antonio and other beaches, or this is also a good place from which to rent your own boat with starboatsibiza.com and explore the bays at your own leisure. Star Boats Ibiza gives you the opportunity to rent a boat, either for a full day or half a day, without a skipper. No license is necessary, and you will be fully briefed on how to drive the motor boat yourself. Even without any previous experience, you are bound to find it remarkably easy.
By following the recommended route, you can be sure of an unforgettable day, as you discover picturesque bays, rugged coastlines, mysterious caves and small islands around San Antonio, from Cala Conta to beyond Cala Salada. Bring ice to store in the coolbox provided, some drinks and a picnic and discover the real Ibiza all by yourself.
All of the amenities that you will need are available on this beach including sun loungers and parasols. There is a lifeguard station manned 11am – 7pm June to September as well as showers, toilets, ramp access to the beach and clearly marked areas for swimmers and boats.

Entrance to the sea here is via sandy seabed with a shallow gradient all the way out. Occasional seaweed beds clog the sea further out and mounds of it do wash up on shore to line the waters edge, there’s not enough of it to be a problem however and weed free areas to swim are easy to find, the area of the beach closest to town is bordered by rocks which make for some good snorkelling and mini rock pools to explore.
Water sports company Ski Santi, have a station on this beach and they will drag you behind their boats on the obstacle of your choosing; water-skis, wakeboard, inflatable banana, sofa or ring at not too extortionate prices, around €15 for the inflatable fun, €30-35 for ski/wakeboard lessons and they also rent jet skis and kayaks.

At one end of the beach is Es Pueto, a small restaurant with a good sized sun terrace and with a range of sun loungers vastly superior to the beach’s rental ones, these are naturally reserved for customers only. The menu here is cheap and kids friendly with kids meals, burgers, jacket potatoes and sandwiches costing you €4, main meals, meat and seafood dishes anywhere from €4 - €14 . You can also get a cocktail here for €5 which is the cheapest you’ll find especially when sitting right on the beach.

Playa S'Estanyol
Walking from Es Puet beach further round the small headland you'll find the two coves that make up the beach of S'Estanyol. Both have small sandy beaches leading to shallow waters and a good choice of water sports.

S'Estanyol beach is a pretty little cove that's off the beaten track making it perfect for when you want to escape from the crowds, especially during high season. Directly next to a car park is a small strip of sand where families go, whilst on the left hand side is a strip of higher rocks and fishermen's huts, where nudists go for peace and quiet.

The entrance to the sea is rocky, though if you enter the sea from the small wooden pier from the sanded area, the seabed becomes smoother and the waters are crystalline and pure. If you want to enter the water via the fishermen's huts on the left, you can, though bathing shoes are recommended. All around you will find sea areas that are ideal for snorkelling.
The ferry to San Antonio and other beaches can also be caught here from the small jetty.

A short walk further on brings you to another small beach which has some beach bars overlooking the bay.

Playa Xinxo (Cala de Bou)
Finally the last beach in the bay is Playa Xinxo also known as Cala de Bou. It's a golden curve of sand which shelves gently in calm waters; great for the kids or lolling about on a lilo!

Sant Antonio Water Sports The surrounding rock arms that protect this little bay keep the sea calm and quiet and also make for some great snorkelling especially over at the far end by the boat shacks and ramps. The bay’s tides often present shallow waters along this part of the region, making this a popular spot for parents with young children looking for a safe place to paddle and enjoy the ocean. Parents can also hire sunbeds and large umbrellas from local businesses, ensuring their stay lasts the whole day. For those without children, or who are big children themselves, the beach caters for various water sports such as jet skiing, paddle boarding or banana boating.

If you fancy a walk along the coastline or a day of beach hopping then Xinxo is worthy of being a stop on your list, if only to say that you’ve visited every beach along the San-Antonio bay strip. There are several hotels with beach bars and restaurants also open to non-hotel guests.

Let the sun shine on you
As the beach club's slogan says, you can enjoy the sun on the beach club's terrace. Via a white gangway you descend to the beach where the beach club has several lounge beds by the sea.

From here you have a beautiful view of the Mediterranean sea and the promenade of San Antonio. You can also enjoy the sunset in the evening.

Kumharas Ibiza
One of the most emblematic lounge bar restaurants in Ibiza for its spectacular atmosphere and beautiful sunsets.

Kumharas Ibiza was designed by artist Sola y Miguel. This artist is also the owner of the restaurant. His idea was to work with the hippie community to develop a multicultural place where everyone could go. This idea has been well reflected. Today you can go there for various workshops such as capoeira, percussion, yoga, dance and music. Activities aimed at children with the most amazing live performances daily, hippie music and the best DJs sessions live, all of it in the magic hour of sunset.

You can also relax at Kumharas Ibiza. Take your place by the pirate tower bar, on rustic wooden couches, deluxe daybeds or simply perch on the rocky coastline to sip on cocktails and sangria, snack on crepes and barbequed bites as the sun melts into the sea before you.

Kumharas Ibiza is not only a meeting place for all cultures, you can also enjoy lunch and dinner there! The menu is Mediterranean with Asian influences. You can enjoy various Thai starters, but there are also curries and wok dishes on the menu. In addition, there is also a choice of meat or fish for enthusiasts.

After dark, the inner sanctum of Kumharas comes alive. A miniature hippy market unfolds around a giant statue of Shiva, while the incredible domed restaurant space is beautifully illuminated by candlelight, setting the scene for the amazing gastronomic journey that lies ahead, taking you from the Mediterranean to the Orient and beyond.

The restaurant also regularly organizes Jamaican barbecues. The restaurant also regularly organizes Jamaican barbecues and you can always go there for an evening of dancing to the music of various DJs.

Playa Port d'es Torrent
After walking along the main street of San Antonio Bay away from San Antonio you finally reach Port d'es Torrent, a popular beach at the end of the resort. In fact, it does not really belong to the Bay of San Antonio itself, it is just around the corner, facing west.

Blessed with the Caribbean-esque, calm turquoise waters the west of the island is famous for, Port d’es Torrent is somewhat of a hidden gem on the island’s west coast. The bay is a deep inlet into the coast, so the waters are tranquil and safe for swimming. The golden sand is fine grained and declines very gently into the sea, the water is crystal clear, perfect for diving. Only on its banks can you find the odd rock that will brighten the day of those who like to snorkel.

It also has a shower service, lifeguards, hammocks and umbrellas, in case you get tired of the strong sun that usually hits during the summer. Another point in its favor is that it can be reached both on the regular bus line and by boat. Both services depart from the municipality of San Antonio.

If you dare, both you and the little ones will have the possibility of practicing all kinds of water sports in Port d'es Torrent. Being a closed bay, its waters are always calm, although this also causes the sunset not to be seen from it.

It could be said of its landscape that it is typically Mediterranean. Composed of bushes, pines and rock formations, the typical fishermen's huts also appear, which give it a special touch. In fact, there are still those who take the opportunity to carry their rod and try to catch something to take to the pot. They comment that a little further inside you can see a large number of native species, red mullet and octopus.

Port d'es Torrent is a very busy beach due to the number of tourist establishments that are around it. However, both residents and tourists flock to it for a refreshing swim in summer. Being surrounded by hotels, shops and restaurants, it is a perfect place to go with the family, since you will not have problems when it comes to finding anything they ask for. Once you are there, take a seat in one of the restaurants there are and try the spectacular dishes of Ibizan cuisine.
Reached by bus, or by driving about 5 minutes from San Antonio. There are good parking facilities for those coming by car. Little ferries connect to San Antonio and other beaches of the west coast.
Ibiza town its is about a 25 minute drive to the bay.

Shrouded with palm trees and hidden by high fences, its whitewashed exterior gives no clues as to the luxury that lies beyond its discreet, gated entrance…

Once inside, the intimate hotel is in complete contrast to its suburban surroundings. Attention to detail is apparent everywhere, from meticulously preened gardens – think lush green lawn, bright pink bouganvillea and the hotel’s namesake, large cactus-like Pitreras plants – and sparkling swimming pool with dark wooden deck to the sophisticated and stylish lounge bar.

Featuring just nine design-focused rooms set across two floors (with upstairs suites offering sensational sunset views), Ses Pitreras is a luxuriously peaceful escape. Contemporary finishes fused with traditional elements come courtesy of famed interior designer Joan Lao – who has left no detail overlooked.
