Ibiza old town
Sniff culture in Ibiza town (Eivissa)
Ibiza Town, also known as Eivissa in Catalan, is the capital of the island of Ibiza.
Eivissa was one of the first cities in Europe. The city was founded by the Carthaginians as early as 654 BC. In its early history Eivissa has also been inhabited by Phoenicians, Romans and Moors. The Catalans eventually took over the city in the 13th century. The presence of the many different adventurers (Hippies) has left a mark on the capital of Ibiza. Eivissa is also the best-preserved coastal fortress on the Mediterranean. In 1999 the city was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. When you visit Eivissa, you will immediately discover why the city is so popular.
The Old upper town
This district Dalt Vila (literally 'high city') is the historic center of Eivissa. Besides culture you will find museums, galleries and shops here. The district is elevated and seems to rise above the blue waters of the Mediterranean. Dalt Vila is a picturesque maze of winding narrow alleys and stairs.
The defensive walls surrounding the neighborhood are impressive. Most of these city walls were built in the 16th century, but some remains of more than 2000 years old are also visible.
City Gates Dalt Vila
There are five entrances through the city wall to the historic center. One that is definitely worth a visit is 'Portal Nou'. This gate connects the Reina Sofia Park with Plaza de Sol. Characteristic are the original wooden doors from the 16th century and the tunnel of 50 meters long with some stairs.
The main entrance to the old center is 'Portal de Ses Taules'. This building dates from 1584. In earlier years the entrance was reached by wooden slats, later this became a drawbridge and nowadays there is a permanent bridge. The large Roman statues on the sides of the gate are replicas, the real statues can be seen in the Archaeological Museum in Dalt Vila.
A highlight of Dalt Vila for many is a visit to the cathedral from the 13th century. The addition of parts to the cathedral in both the 16th and 18th centuries has made it an interesting mix of styles.
The Cathedral is built on the highest part of the district, a place where a Roman temple first stood and later a mosque. It is a small climb to reach the cathedral, but the view and the ancient monument make it completely worth it.

For the real holiday feeling you can enjoy a snack and a drink with a view of the harbor and the Mediterranean Sea.
The Fishing Area Sa Penya
Together with La Marina and Dalt Vila, Sa Penya is a World Heritage Site. This district is now the entertainment area of Eivissa. In the evening you will find many tourists looking for a bar or club. Calle de la Virgen street (Carrer de la Mare de Déu) is known for its large number of gay bars. If you would like to experience a typical parade with drag queens and dancers, you have come to the right place in this street.

With these words she explains something very beautiful. Everyone should do what they feel comfortable in, but in an elegant way.

It all started when Gerd Unterweger Silvershop creator and designer decides to travel the world to know traditions and beliefs of different cultures. On these trips is when the motivation is born to create the designs that symbolize Silvershop today. after coming back to ibiza from a trip to Japan all these impressions merge with current trends that lead to the idea of creating his first Silvershop in Ibiza. Back in 2001 he opens the first Silvershop in the "Marina" - port of Ibiza, shortly after he decides to create the brand, in April 2014 he opens the second store also in the "Marina" and the current online store.
The stores are full of original ideas and messages for life, Silvershop's are not just shops selling jewelry, they are the manifestation of a lifestyle.
The designs are inspired by various cultures from around the world and influenced by the fashion art and people from ibiza.
