Cala Tarida is a very beautiful bay with a nice family beach. The beach is very wide with fine sand. The bay is divided into two beaches: Cala Tarida North and Cala Tarida South. The south is often a bit quieter.
The clean, clear water over a sandy bottom is shallow to quite a distance on the right, deeper and rockier on the left. The colors of the sea here are truly magnificent: turquoise, azure blue and emerald green. There are rock walls at the ends of the two beaches. These offer wonderful places to snorkel. The rocks also ensure that there is usually little wave action in the bay. This also makes Cala Tarida a suitable destination for families with children.
A number of areas have been cordoned off on the beach where you can rent lounge beds and umbrellas. These beds are affordable and you pay for the whole day.Behind the beach are well-urbanised hills with a large hotel club just behind, the convenience of this making Cala Tarida a popular family beach. There are also shops right on the beach to buy inflatables, snorkel gear and beach balls if you wish to do more than simply sunbathing.
The bay has several restaurants. Here you will find, among other things, the popular cotton club Ibiza and the Can Yucas restaurant.
In all restaurants it is possible to just have a drink and enjoy the cooling. The restaurants are open until late in the evening, so you can enjoy the beautiful sunset. Es Calonet
Under the impressive cliffs of Cala Tarida is Es Calonet Es Pujolets, a small bay with numerous typical boathouses. A short walk further towards Cala Tarida you will find a beautiful quiet beach, although it is difficult to access via the cliff top, however it is easier to reach by swimming from the boathouses.
Es Calonet is a small mooring on the other side of the bay from Cala Tarida. It is an excellent place if you are looking for peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the more famous beaches. This bay is the perfect place for a quiet holiday or weekend getaway.
